FY2019 Wave 1 - Released! What next?

Wave 1 for E-Rate Funding Year 2019 has been released. Utah applicants were awarded over $634K in committed discounts funding. Salt Lake City School District was awarded over half of the State of Utah funding for this initial wave with nearly $365K in discounted funding for their E-Rate Category 2 projects for FY2019. Funding Commitment Decision Letters (FCDL) were also sent to 12 other entities:

  • CACHE SCHOOL DISTRICT

  • CARBON SCHOOL DISTRICT

  • CENTRO DE LA FAMILIA DE UTAH HEAD START PROGRAM SCHOOL DISTRICT

  • EMERY COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM

  • JUAB SCHOOL DISTRICT

  • SALT LAKE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT

  • ST JOSEPH CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL

  • ST JOSEPH CATHOLIC SCHOOL

  • WASATCH ACADEMY

  • WASHINGTON COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM

  • WAYNE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

  • WEBER SCHOOL DISTRICT

There will be many more waves to come for FY2019. This small wave represents only 2.25% of the total funding requested by Utah’s E-Rate applicants. Please note there will be more to come. Be sure to address in requests for information your receive from USAC’s Program Integrity Assurance (PIA) representative. Contact Jerome Browning, Utah State E-Rate Coordinator, when you get these and need assistance.


The Funding Commitment Decision Letter will be sent through an email sent to the contact(s) listed within the respective application (filed Form 471) as an attachment in pdf format. The email is sent from an “usac.org” email address like EPC.Application.Administrator@usac.org. You may also find your FCDL in your “My Landing Page” of the EPC portal. Once you access your landing page choose “Funding Commitment Decision Letter” in the “Notification Type” dropdown list and then select 2019 in the “Funding Year” dropdown. Once a list appears click on the “View Notification” link at the end of the respective FCDL line. Be sure to read the information in the FCDL, the same emailed FCDL is located just after the signature line of the EPC available version.


The next step upon receiving a formal Funding Commitment Decision Letter is to file a Form 486 as discussed within the FCDL. Here are some training/informational links that may help:
